DIRIVA - RATIONALIZATION OF THE METHODS OF DISTRIBUTION OF PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCTS

DIRIVA - Rationalization of the methods of distribution of plant protection products

DESCRIPTION

1. Define the most appropriate volumes for the plant protection treatments of fruit crops, using the pear as a case study.
2. Compare the distributional performances of air induction anti-drift nozzles in comparison with conventional nozzles.
3. Verify and validate the biological efficacy of the covering fungicidal treatments applied on pear tree with air induction anti-drift nozzles compared with conventional nozzles.
4. Refine the most recent studies on the volumes and dosages of distribution used on the grapevine also to mitigate the drift effect.

Activities

1.Evaluation of different distribution volumes applied on pear trees
2.Evaluation of the drift generated by different distribution systems applied on pear trees
3.Distribution performance of air induction anti-drift nozzles
4.Refinement of the most recent studies on volumes and dosages of distribution used on the vine

Main Results

Identification of the correct application volume of plant protection products for traditional aeroconveion sprayers in function of the vegetative development of the orchard and verification of innovative rate-variable sprayers in order to limit the environmental impact of the treatments themselves while maintaining their effectiveness unchanged.
Definition of the degree of effectiveness of air induction anti-drift nozzles in terms of reduction of losses of plant protection products in the environment and of effectiveness in containing fungal diseases with cover products.
Innovative methods for defining the dosage of plant protection products as a function of vegetative development in the viticultural environment, both on conventional sprayers and with tunnel sprayers.
